Set the VAT rate group per item

If you invoice Items, you must record the VAT rate group in which the item falls. For instance, in the Netherlands, children's shoes fall in the High rate group.

To set the VAT rate group by item/article:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Item / Article.
  2. Open the properties of the item.
  3. Go to the tab: General.

  4. Select the VAT rate group.

    You can only select rate groups linked to the legislative country. If you change the fields VAT rate group and, if applicable, VAT rate group in case of deviation on the General tab, these are also updated on the VAT rate groups tab.

    You can record a deviating VAT rate for a specific debtor.

    To set a deviating VAT rate group:

    1. Go to:
      • Order Management / Item / Article.
      • Projects / Item / Article.
    2. Open the properties of the article.
    3. Go to the General tab.
    4. Select a value for VAT rate group in case of deviation.
    5. Go to: Financial / Debtor / Debtor.
    6. Open the properties of the debtor for which you want to record a deviating VAT rate group.
    7. Go to the Debtor tab.
    8. Select the Deviating VAT rate group check box.

      Profit now creates a unique combination for an invoice for this debtor and the set article.

  5. Select the Service calculation check box if the item is a service.
  6. Click on: Finish.
